Usage and billing
Calls made with a partner key are billed to the AI Pro subscription of the organisation's owner, at the published AI Pro price. There is no separate partner price.
What is billed
- An answer is billed once. A call whose result is an answer, including a search that runs and finds no results, counts as one call.
- An error is not billed. A call that returns an error envelope (for example
NOT_FOUND,TITLE_NOT_IN_FORCEorINTERNAL_ERROR), or that is refused before the tool runs (UNAUTHENTICATED,FORBIDDEN,INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE,TERMS_REQUIRED,RATE_LIMITED, or HTTP 401), is not billed. - The price is on the pricing page: a monthly AI Pro fee and a per-call price after the free calls each month.
What is recorded about each call
| Recorded | Not recorded |
|---|---|
| The tool, the time, the client and the key | The arguments sent (the question) |
The X-LawAtlas-Subject value, if sent | The answer returned |
| Whether the call was billed and, if not, why |
A failing call's arguments may appear in Advisor's error log, under the reference the error returns.
Where the owner sees the bill
The owner manages the AI Pro subscription in Advisor under Settings, Manage Subscription, which opens the billing portal with invoices and usage charges. The partner page shows each client's calls in the last 30 days.
Keeping cost predictable
- Use one client per workload, so each has its own rate limit.
- Revoke a client's key to stop its spending at once. To lower a client's rate limit, contact support.
- Prefer a tool that answers in one call:
hansard_statsfor a number rather than pagingsearch_hansard,search_provisionsbefore fetching text.
